Overview

In this role you will lead the group’s procurement and commercial strategy to deliver public value with commercial insight. You will operate in a hybrid role that blends entrepreneurial thinking with public sector accountability, shaping procurement across services from housing to environmental projects. You will tackle high-value, complex procurements while embedding robust supplier and contract management. You will build and coach a high-performing team, fostering continuous learning and growth. Responsibilities

• Shape and continuously improve the procurement strategy and commercial capability
• Ensure compliance with Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contracts Regulations 2015
• Lead complex, high-value procurement projects with strong supplier and contract management frameworks
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team

Key requirements

• Experience leading procurement in the public sector or other regulated environments (e.g. social housing)
• Expert knowledge of public procurement law with Practitioner Level certification preferred
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic mindset
• MCIPS (or working towards it) is a plus
